Victims of the Wooden Horse - A mixed media work based on Euripides' The Women of Troy. The classical text was spliced with contemporary dialogue to produce a work that offered a critical commentary on wars waged throughout the C20th. Live music, mask, poetry, news broadcasts, projected images and dance were merged to create a theatrical montage that focused upon the mental and physical abuse suffered by women during war. Euripides' text provided the foundation for a powerful reflection upon contemporary society. Victims of the Wooden Horse was first performed at the Turtle Key Arts Centre - Fulham.
Cassandra: Deanna Johnson, Andromache: Terri Potoczna, Hecabe: Rosemary Johnson and Karion: Helen Birkenshaw.
